Urine smell in your toilets or bathroom?

Porcelain and glazed surfaces can be found in a few areas around the house, such as (glazed tiles) bathrooms and toilets (porcelain toilet bowl). Porous grouting surrounding these is also to be considered when removing urine stains.

All of these materials are subject to long-term build-up of uric acid crystals. Please note we recommend a different course of action for old stains.

urineFREE can eliminate the urine smell and the source by “eating up” the uric acid crystals, leaving you with a sparkling clean, odour-free bathroom.

1. Blot up excess urine with paper towels.

2. Spray with urineFREE.

3. Allow to dry.

4. Lightly sponge surface with water to remove any residue.

How to apply urineFREE

1. Shake well before use and do not dilute the product.
2. Ensure padding and sub-surfaces are soaked with urineFREE where affected. urineFREE must come into contact with all the urine to do its job. Different surfaces may require more or less product depending on porousness or absorbency rate.
3. urineFREE is not a spray and wipe product and requires dwell time to do its job. Allow the area to stay wet with urineFREE as long as possible. Plastic wrap may assist where high evaporation is occurring, for example where hot sun is shining through a window onto an affected area.
4. Repeat applications may be necessary, especially on older urine stains. The sniff test will tell you when you’re done!
Occasionally, a stain may intensify during the treatment process. This indicates urine rising to the surface. It will disappear with repeat treatments.

The amount of urineFREE you are going to need depends on the amount of urine that has been deposited, if it has accumulated over time and the porosity of the surface you are treating.

For example one dog (depending on size) can urinate between 200-2000ml each day. Over 365 days this is a large accumulation of urine.

Therefore we cannot recommend an exact quantity as every case is different. The more urine you have, the more urineFREE you will need to eliminate the urine for good.

For ongoing maintenance in places where your pet is going to revisit such as lawn and synthetic grass, complete removal is costly, so we recommend the following:

Regular maintenance with urineFREE to reduce the long term odours. “Touch ups” with BackyardFRESH to provide temporary relief in between urineFREE treatments, and reduce the overall cost.

It may take more than one application on old urine or for larger deposits. The sniff test will tell you when you’ve got it all. Once the odour is gone and if the grass is still being used by your pet, apply weekly for maintenance or as required.
